Four new toll plazas have opened to traffic along the Moravski Corridor in central Serbia, marking a significant step forward in the ongoing upgrade of the country’s road network.
The Moravski Corridor, a 112.4 km motorway, links Serbia’s east-west axis with the north-south corridor between Hungary and North Macedonia, connecting the A1 and A2 highways. It also provides a key route between belgrade and the popular tourist region of Zlatibor.
“The implementation of the tolling systems is proceeding smoothly and on schedule,” said Ivan Katalina, sales manager Balkans for Kapsch TrafficCom.
“Our local expertise combined with international know-how enables us to respond quickly and effectively to all requirements.”
The toll plazas, powered by Kapsch TrafficCom’s SmartTOLL technology, are part of a wider project covering 150 contracted lanes, 120 of which are scheduled for delivery by the end of 2025. In total, Kapsch is supplying technology for 16 toll plazas.
