SkyToll has begun construction works on the Croatian A3 motorway to erect the first portals of the new electronic toll system.
The fully digital system, called Crolibertas, will be implemented on all Croatian motorways.
The project includes laying foundations, assembling the steel structure itself, replacing or installing new guardrails, carrying out electrical installations, and other related works.
Construction activities will take place in multiple phases, during which traffic will be administered by temporary traffic measures.
The works are planned for periods of lower traffic intensity, mainly in the evening and night hours.

The current phase of Crolibertas system implementation includes the installation of a total of 212 portals throughout the motorway network in Croatia.
It also includes the assembly of advanced IT equipment, the construction works on sections in the course of their regular operation and the establishment of back office data processing centres.
Simultaneously with the installation of portals and the installation of technology (cameras and antennas), tests of the functionality of individual parts of the system will be carried out as well.
After all installations are completed and connectivity is commissioned, comprehensive system testing will follow at the network level.
The new toll collection system will be introduced on all Croatian motorways administered by Hrvatske Autoceste, Bina Istra and Autocesta Zagreb-Macelj.
