The second and final day of Road User Charging Conference 2022 kicks off tomorrow [05 May] with more transportation leaders from across Europe coming together to discuss the latest advances in tolling technologies, road pricing projects and intelligent transport systems.
Day 2 will begin with opening remarks from co-chair Keith Mortimer, director of Wyeval Consulting. While Katie Searles, assistant editor of CiTTi Magazine, will moderate the afternoon session before closing the conference with her final remarks.
A total of 11 presentation will be delivered on Day 2 comprising of a mix of road user charging topics and urban mobility insights. Bernd Datler, managing director, ASFiNAG, will begin proceedings with a presentation on the effect of EUCARIS on toll charger operations.
EUCARIS will also be looked at by Roelof de Graaf who will discuss why vehicle data is required when operating a toll road or environmental zone. He will provide an update on the implementation of EETS messages in EUCARIS and how vehicle registration authorities can work together on data quality.
Other unmissable sessions on Day 2 come from Patrick Jones, executive director & CEO at IBTTA; Kari Johanne Hjeltnes, project manager for the Norwegian Ministry of Transport and from the United States Adrian Moore, vice president of policy at Reason Foundation.
The afternoon session will see the CiTTi stream, a dedicated parallel conference focused on the technologies and concepts driving the clean, safe and efficient movement of people and goods through urban environments, integrated into the Road User Charging Conference in the main theatre.
Speakers focusing on tolling includes Giacomo Migliore, policy officer – DG MOVE – European Commission and Dr Kalliopi Tzivanaki, utilities, networks and special projects manager at Olympia Odos. While, the CiTTi speakers Jussi Yli-Seppälä, traffic engineer at the City of Helsinki and David Schoenmaekers, ITS manager for Federal Public Service Mobility and Transport will cover road safety and Mobility-as-a-Service, respectively.
Searles will bring the conference to a close with a look ahead to the first in-person Road User Conference in America, to be held this June in Miami.
