Commuter app Moovit has announced a partnership expansion with =Azienda per la mobilità di Roma Capitale S.p.A. (ATAC) to expedite movement around Rome, Italy.
ATAC is an Italian publicly owned company running most of the local public transportation services in Rome.
With fare ticketing powered by Wetechnology, the new multimodal service saw usage in 42 different countries during the testing phase.
The new service enables public transport riders to quickly find the best routes and purchase and validate tickets for all ATAC-operated lines.
In Rome and its surrounding region, Moovit integrates all seven transport modes—bus, train, metro, tram, ferry, funicular, and cable car—offered by multiple local carriers.
This means transport riders can plan end-to-end routes in seconds and know exactly when to leave, where to transfer, and when to get off.
Sr. director of sales & global partnerships at Moovit, Samuel Sed Piazza, said: “Moovit’s partnership with ATAC underscores our ongoing commitment to the citizens and tourists of Rome.
“As urban mobility continues to evolve, having precise travel planning solutions and easy access to ticket purchasing has become essential.
“Customers can now plan, pay, and ride across major cities more easily, get to their destination on time, and fully enjoy the events and performances these vibrant places have to offer.”
