Daimler Truck and DHL have partnered to order 30 Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 through commercial vehicle rental provider hylane.
The electric heavy good vehicles (eHGVs) are set to be used in the Post & Parcel Germany division for transport between parcel centres.
The eHGVs will join DHL’s fleet, which already includes 16 electric trucks and 450 CNG trucks in transport, as well as 32,400 electric vans for last-mile delivery.
The vehicles are are expected to be delivered by the end of the second quarter of 2026.
Reportedly, DHL aims to reduce all emissions to net zero by 2050, with the goal of increasing the share of vehicles in the transport sector using alternative fuels or drives to about 30% by 2030.
The eHGVs will be supported by existing DHL charging infrastructure, with 10 CNG fuelling stations and 41,000 electric charging points currently operational.

The news comes as Daimler Trucks announced the expansion of the Mercedes-Benz Würzburg commercial vehicle centre, the new section capable of catering to eHGVs and electric buses.
The new workshop hall covers an area of around 250 square meters, the additional space created for specialised high-voltage workstations that can service models such as the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600, eEconic, the FUSO eCanter and the Mercedes-Benz eCitaro electric city bus.
The new hall is also prepared for the installation of the necessary sensor technology, a fully equipped gas workstation, and an automatic extraction system for future use of hydrogen technology.
Electric charging stations have been planned for the site: a total of three charging stations with six charging points are available for employee and customer cars.

For trucks and buses, a charging station with two charging points for charging currents of up to 300 kilowatts is available for the time being, where customer vehicles can be charged after leaving the service centre and CharterWay rental vehicles can be charged.
